Just checked out 3 of the Cousteau videos from the library this weekend. Nice to be able to put a face to a name, Blair. Looked like some good times putting those specials together.

Also nice to see Force Fins getting so much "air time". Glad that the Cousteau team was willing to put them to the test.

Giffmann,
Thanks for the Feedback! It was an amazing adventure. Having our own fin maker was another dream! Bob Evans and Force Fins have been a huge supporter of Ocean Futures Society for many years and still to this day! The series was a lot of work over many years and it was a magnificent experience both above and below the water that I will never forget!

It must have been an amazing time. I remember watching the old Jacques Cousteau specials and reading his books wishing I could do that someday. Even wrote him once when I was in Junior High. Got a nice response back from the Society. Nice to be able to share his son's work with my boys. Hopefully the SCUBA bug will bite them as well.

I've personally been a user of Force Fins for longer than I can remember. My old instructor, Ron Johns, has been a dealer for them from the start and persuaded me to try them after I was complaining of ankle pain when using my old scubapro fins. Been a big fan ever since. Finally traded my old, original blue fins for some black XXL last year from Ron and again am very pleased. Just wish I had the cash to try out some of the more "advanced" versions.

Giff,
Great read! Thanks for sharing! Bob has some visitors in from out of town, but he wanted me to tell you that Ron Johns is his favorite dealer http://www.scubaheartland.com/ and Heartland Scuba Center: Facilities and if you want to try out any Force Fins we have in stock let him know and we will get you some Force Fins to to experiment with.

Blair,

Thanks! Was not expecting that at all!

The link you used is Ron's "sister" shop in Lincoln, NE that Brian owns/runs. Ron's shop is actually in Kearney Heartland Scuba Center - Scuba training and gear in Kearney Nebraska

It's kind've cool to walk into Ron's shop and see the autographed Oscilating Force Fins.

I'll have to give some thought on the fins I want to try. I've got it narrowed down to 3 or 4 models :D

Giffmann, wait till you see what I sent to Ron and Chris last week. After over 20 years of selling my fins they are part of my family.

Bob,
Unfortunately, they are about 3 hours west of here and I don't get out nearly as often as I'd like. I'll have to call him to see what you sent.

Also, thanks for the kind offer. I'll do some perusing on the website to figure out exactly which design I'd like to try out.

Be warned,
New Force Fins are habit forming!
I can't seem to quit. Every time Bob makes a new Model, I need it!

uncleavi,

I can definitely see that. I'm really looking forward to trying out something other than my old, reliable original Force Fin! Course, if I get hooked too deep, it'll cost me an arm and a leg!!

Giffmann,
I have 3 pair of pros, 1 pair originals, 1 pair Tan Deltas , 1 pair SD-1 Military ,1 Pair SD-1 Excells and let's not forget my Wife's Foil Force.
I am starting to shake as I write this. I must go out and dive with my Force Fins!
