I've put in a handful of dives now with my new Cousteau 1st w/Micra Adj second, and am so far quite happy -- breathes easily (only had it down to 60'...), and I like the ability to adjust.

Has anyone out there used it for a while? Impressions? Observations? I'd love to hear what others think, as most of the postings regarding Aqua Lung regs on this board have been negative -- yet I've used a bunch of them and have never had an issue.

Many thanks.

I have been using Cousteau Micra Plus regulator ( supreme ) without having any problems since 1995, and I am very happy with it for its ease of breathing. The only difference between micra adjustable and micra plus is their second stages. There is an additional adjusting knob at the second stage of the micra adj. Frankly speaking, although I have never used the min/max switch of my micra plus even at supreme depths( 246 ft), and I have always left it on min. the ease of breathing is still great.

I really want to buy a second regulator, but it is hard for me to decide which one to buy. Nowadays, I have heard from many people that Aqualung Legend LX Supreme and Apeks ATX 200 have outstanding performance, so I might decide to buy one of them.

Have safe dives

Love my Micras. They are superb.

I have 2 Aqua Lung regs, the Titan XLC and the new Titan supreme LX Octopus. I like both of them - they breathe extremely well for me - so far, and I have been very happy for the money.

I have tried some other more expensive regs with guys in my OW class, and granted, we were only in 12 ft of water then - my 2 regs breathed better than a $350 model they got from the LDS that WASN'T Aqua Lung.

So for me, I'm VERY happy with mine.

But, given some additional money, I'd probably purchase an Apeks ATX or TX100 next time. I have heard NO negatives on Apeks so far....seems EVERYONE loves them.

Rumor has it that AL bought Apeks in UK and Apeks is overseeing many of the AL designs in the newer AL models.

Sounds like it should be a good thing for AL!

I had Micra adj for a year. Didn't really like it. Difficult to purge and it seems to be really wet to breath. Well, after doing 40 dives with Apex tx50, I wouldn't go back to Micra. It also has significant bubble interference. Other than that a nice little piece. Just saw it in one LDS in Calgary, they sell them for CAD$480 with the Cousteau first stage. A bargain, isn’t it?
