One fish and one...I can't even guess where it belongs. Maybe one inch long.

No way. Look at the big mouth and thick lips, this is definitely a predator.The fish looks like Genus Pomacanthus (family of angelfishes). I have never seen it or paid any attention to it as it looks bland (uninteresting greyish brown coloring).
Excellent guess! This must be it. The star is Mottled Linckia then.The bottom picture looks like a piece of sea star limps that got chopped off by perhaps a Harlequin Shrimp (see the picture, below). That limp amazingly is still alive and decides to grow new limps.

How about Redmouth Grouper variation.No way. Look at the big mouth and thick lips, this is definitely a predator.
Thanks! Redmouth was one of my suspects but the photo in Allen et al book looks quite differently. The picture you found in Wiki is very similar to mine.
