Our plans are to dive 11th - 17th. Contact Aldora and ask for Dave, the owner. He was the one that offered the deal to me and said he would work on putting together the trip.

GPdiver:
join some of us Cozumelholics at ElMoro Tuesday the 26th at around 7:pm
We may do that. We'll have to see what the wives/fiances want to do... afterall they control everything.

...Emailed with Dave and they are now doing a special trip south of Punta Sir on 32EANx and you end the dive with Devils Throat. Said its an awsome dive. Sounds good to me!!!
Is is safe to dive through the Devil's Throat on EANx32? I would not do it!

Both my wife and I dove it in September with EAN32. I had set my computer to alert me at 1.40ppo and, sure enough, it beeped just as I exited at 110fsw. Still had 20+ feet before I got to 1.60ppo.

If you have a computer and know how to use it, I feel it is both safe and effective to use EAN32. We both lived to do it again early next month!

Man, can't wait. Leaving on the 10th of Nov. for 10 glorios days again. For those of you Aldora fans interested I will post a trip report when we get back. This is a dive many of us ops do, it's nothing outside of the normal itinerary other than needing good solid experienced divers to do it.

Diving nitrox for this dive is fine as long as you again are very experienced and have excellent buoyancy control so that you don't exceed the depth limits. Coming out of the throat you can hit 120, but from there most of the dive is between 80 and 100 feet.

Personally, I would prefer to do it on 28 or 30 for a safety factor. He tells me they have been doing it and its a great dive. We'll see. Last time I did the dive I did it on air.

If you want a 28% or 30% mix, just let Aldora know. All they have to do is request it from the fill station a day or two in advance and it should not be a problem.

If you are not comfortable doing that dive on 32%, you are not being unreasonable. In fact, I respect you more for being conscious of the risks (you would be surprised at how many people are not).

My point is that it can be done safely with 32% if you are VERY comfortable with your buoyancy and watch your depth closely. However, the potential IS there to exceed the depth, which is why we usually dive it on air, 30%, or I make sure that the divers doingthis dive on 32% are exceptional divers that I know will watch their depth, etc.

Have fun and be careful! Don't be afraid to ask for the different mix...you're paying for it, so get the mix you want and are comfortable with.

My wife and I will be there from Nov. 7-14. We're Coz first-timers and can't wait. With just a handful of dives to count I'm afraid we're going to get spoiled down there.

outstanding Christi. Was not aware we could request custom mixes in Coz. Dove with DWM this past May and was told 32 or 36 only. Figured the entire island was that way. I will let Aldora know we prefer 30 and go from there. Won't be an issue with restricting other divers for BT as we always come up with well over 900 psi and often more than 1400 psi with Aldora. Thats the shame of the big tank and extra funds for the DO. What are ya gonna do? Thanks again Christi for your input. Wished we could have booked with you this trip. Maybe next April or May.
