We are arriving Costa Maya by Carnival Conquest ship, on Aug. 29, to be in port from 8am, and get back by 3pm.

A few years ago we were here, I dove from Mahuhual. Got 2 very nices dives. But the shop is no longer there (and there were a couple of big hurricanes that "changed" things).

There are several dive ops. Also resorts (Maya Palms for diving, Maya Chan or Almaplena as AI resorts that seem to be able to arrange scuba). But there are not a lof of recent reviews.

This time it's my wife and I, plus our two children (that can dive, and are life guards/swim instructors). So the 3 of us will like to dive, while my wife tag along and enjoy beach or even snorkel.

Could anyone help to suggest or comment.

Thanks.

I've dived twice with Gypsea Divers and they were great. I also would recommend Nomad Divers.

Ok thanks. I also see there's Maya Chan resort that sounds nice, and partner with a dive shop. There's also Maya Palms. doctordive, divemahahual, divecostamaya.. That's quite a few more dive shops than a few years ago.

Will look into them.

Thanks.

These guys are great. Welcome at the website of Bucanero del Caribe (divemahahual)

I've also gone with Nomad. Selma is a lot of fun.

My wife and kids bought the Pez Quadro beach club ( Pez Quadro Beach Club - Costa Maya (Majahual), ) and I stayed with them until Jorge came to pick me up to go diving. We dived later in the day. If you dived early, I'm sure they could drop you at Pez Quadro (40 Cannons) after diving, or walk down the Malecon, it's only a block or two from Jorge's dive shop at the Hotel Mahahual.

I've used them twice on a cruise ship excursions. Last year, my son and I flew down, and spent a week diving with them. A great trip, and they really take care of you.
