I've found a 1993 CF 200 DUI drysuit and it has a small leak from the zipper. Can anyone tell me how much it would cost to fix this?

If you can't tell from the multitude of other posts, I'm looking at buying a used drysuit. Thanks

I had a zipper put in my drysuit, it's not a DUI but it cost me around $300 if it's any help. It's a USIA Pac Cloth suit.

A buddy just had a new zipper put in his CF200 at a local drysuit repair shop/commercial suit manufacturer for $450... :shakesheadindisgust:
If he would have let the LDS send it in to DUI it probably would have been $300 and I wouldn't have had to fix the leaky seams where the local drysuit repair shop/commrecial suit manufacturer did a crappy job.

As eluded to by teh above poster, the zipper is the most expesive part. If you have to replace it, that would be a major cost added to the purchse of a new suit.

However, zippers can leak if they are dirty. They can also leak at the end if they are not zipped all the way closed. Finally, If you had an actual leak, I guess you could be lucky and it cold be a puncture or tear just next to the zipper so it could be repaired without necessitating the entire zipper replacement.

If I were considering the purchase of a used suit with a leaky zipper, it would have to be exptremely cheap, l almost free for me to consider it...Consdierfing I could buy a fully functioning used one on Ebay for 3 to 600 dollars (DUI TLS or CF200).

Yeah that's the problem, it's going for $200 and the ad says "there is a small leak at the top of the zipper". Any suggestions guys? Should I run from this one?

Don't know if you are in a hurry to get a suit or not. If you have the time to watch and wait, there are lots of suits that come along in Ebay at great prices, especially TLS 350s and CF200s (DUI). Many of them come with undergarments as well.

In the off season, the prices are really quite depressed. I bought two TLS 350s last year, both with DUI Thinsulate garments, both were in virtually unused condition. I paid 300 for mine and 600 for my wife's.

Wow, yeah I wish I could find one for 300. I was about to buy one for $400, virtually unused (CF 200), then the guy told me that he spilled gasoline on the leg when it was in the garage and he needed to call DUI to find out what kind of damage it did. Plus, I'm kind of an off-size. I'm 5'10", 160lbs, with a size 11.5 foot. It's the foot size that screws me up.

I came up in an fuel oil spill in my first CF200... years ago... and DUI said to take the suit out of service as it couldn't be decontaminated reliably. (The barge company that had the spill paid for it.)
