Or dive tables and a roll-up snorkel (for those that decide to eliminate the mask mounted snorkel).
I always carried a dive table and a slate with my Adjusted NDLs on every dive. I never knew how deep I might go or how long I could stay. I would just refer to my ANDLs as I went along. In the old days, I could actually read a dive table underwater. No more (sigh)...
I'm not convinced about the strap mounted light holder. I'm sure it works ok but, as I seldom use a light, having it in the pocket will work just fine. The cannister light is serious overkill for my diving.
A pocket is also a nice place to carry a simple underwater digital camera. I have purposely left my Nikonos V w/strobe on the shelf in favor of a 'point-and-shoot' digital.
There are many uses for pockets. None of which are well accomodated by the absence of pockets.
