I was wondering if anybody knows where I could obtain a custom length BC inflator hose. I recently purchased a OMS 60# dual bladder BC and the corrugated hose serving the rear bladder is a little short. I would be able to use the power inflator no problem but if I was to ever have to manually inflate the rear bladder I would have to turn my head to the right at an uncomforatable angle. The largest corrugated hose that OMS supplys is 19" which is what the BC came equipt with. this hose length works well for the front bladder but not very well with the rear bladder. Any help you all could give would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info a 22" would be better than what I have but a 26" would be Ideal,I'll check out Dive Rite. If anybody knows of any other sources that sells corrugated hoses around 25" or 26" it will help me out immensely.

Not sure what your problem is, but I got installed a 22" hose on my OMS 45# bladder and it works pretty good.

I flipped the wing around so the connection to the bladder is on the tank side of the bladder (just like the dual bladder).
I find very easy to use the integrated power inflator/octo with the 22" hose, even with the divealert and subalert installed, I think that a longer than 22" hose may proove to long for that matter.
The Power inflator can be bungied to the harness for streamlinig and not have a dangling hose in front of you.
I can get away with a 20" hose easily, but didn't found any suppliers for that length, 19" may be too short with the divealert and subalert installed, without the dive alert and subalert, 16" should be plenty.

www.diveriteexpress.com has very fast shipping and competitive prices.

If you really need a longer hose, then you may be able to join two 12" hoses with a plastic hose coupling of the apropiate diameter from a hardware store, but you'll be adding another posible air leak in the long run.

Another aspect that you may consider is that if that setup is for the redundant bladder (tank side bladder), then the shortest hose that works for your neck (even if you have to turn your head to use the power inflator manually) may be advisable since it's a backup and it will rarely be used (rare case of main bladder failure or practice drills)

Good luck and tell us what you decide................

I can use the inflator with the 19" inch hose that was supplied with it but not comfortably,so I was wanting something a little longer for that reason alone.Your right it is only a backup and will rarely if ever be used. OMS sells a 20" hose and I might go with that. You use a 22" hose did you get it from Dive Rite? I really dont know much about them and was wondering about the quality of their products, I know the inflator hoses are really affordable $21 bucks for the 22 inch.

What is the dimension on the hoses diameter? This is a 'short-coming' of many dual bladder systems and one reason many will use 2 seperate wings allowing for a bit more flex. If you will PM me the diameter and your desired length of hose,,,I will check a source for you. Hose diameters can vary from manufactors and models.

Alot of hoses are made by different vendors....and there can be compatability problems with the threads. Be careful and make sure they match up before you try to crank the thing on there.

Problem solved. Zeagle supplies a 23" corrugated hose which I was able to fit to the OMS power inflator and BC with out any problem.

Cool
