Seems to me there may be a good correlation between the tick marks on a computer's graphic display and pressure groups from dive tables. If so, that may provide a useful option in the event of a computer failure. Anyone know or am I going to have to design some experiments. At least it would be another excuse to dive.

Of course there's some correlation, but I'd not expect it to be reliable. Tables assume a given dive profile (depth as a function of time); computers calculate based on a diver's actual profile. The algorithm used by a computer may not (and probably isn't) the same one used to prepare the tables.
