Glad you found your answers. I would suggest you pick up a copy of Sturgis Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure. It is easy to read and very straight forward. You can buy them on Amazon for next to nothing. It might be a good idea to have your group vote on adopting such a text to fill in the gaps why your bylaws might be lacking.
I think US government bodies lean more towards Sturgis than Roberts. Having a text such as Sturgis, could help your group craft bylaws that would better serve your group.
