Third Annual Coralpalooza
June 2nd – 4th, 2017
This summer, Coral Restoration Foundation is hosting our 3rd Annual Coralpalooza — a weekend dedicated to promoting awareness for our coral reefs!
In honor of World Oceans Day, this event will be held over the weekend of June 2nd. Dive program participants will join Coral Restoration Foundation on Friday for a presentation along with hands on training, followed by a day of reef restoration activities on Saturday.
On the afternoon of June 2nd, all registered dive participants will join us at the Murray Nelson Government Center in Key Largo for a presentation and hands-on training. One June 3rd, participants will meet their assigned group at their designated dive shop location and time to begin their activity. Activities will range from helping in our coral tree nurseries, monitoring existing colonies, and outplanting threatened species of corals. Participants will be joined by experienced restoration Team Leaders who will serve as guides throughout the day and direct activities. These team leaders will also provide more information on what Coral Restoration Foundation is all about! Diving participants can register through our website and will receive dive shop and group assignments in weeks leading up to the event.
While the boats are out, land-lubbers are invited to join land events in Key Largo for a day of fun and learning. As the dive day draws to a close, dive participants are invited to the event celebration dinner Saturday evening for a raffle and announcement of the day’s successes!
