Is there any danger in diving an abandoned flooded copper mine?

Is there a danger in diving in water that copper is diffused I them, can it cause illness of some kind? Do I need to wear some extra protection? Or it has no influence at all.

Thanks

If you can get a sample of the water and have it tested then you will know if it is safe or not. At least from a water standpoint. Water in mines can have some very toxic chemicals in it, or it may be fairly clean, only testing can tell which.

Diving in mines is like a combination of cave and wreck diving, with all the hazards of both.

If there's appreciable amounts of copper in the water, it'll kill any invertebrates. So much for finding exotic cave species.
