That's classic!

Im a newbie diver so I havent had much opportunity to find sunken treasures yet. On my AOW Boat cert dive, I found an old mask and snorkel in about 30 ffw. Looked to be in pretty good shape although covered in mud. I ditched the snorkel, but figured the mask would be a keeper. I took it back to the hotel to clean it up, and it literally fell apart. Oh well! It was a hoot just to find it!

On my AOW Search & Recovery dive, my buddy and I descended within 10 feet of the concrete filled bucket we were supposed to find. This was on the dive using the "circular" search pattern. We went ahead and played the game and did a few circles even though we knew exactly where it was.

Looking foward to finding lots of little things in the years to come.

On my AOW, I found the concrete bucket that the same instructor had genuinely lost the weekend before while doing a search and recovery class. They couldn't find it during the simulated search, and then they really couldn't find it at the end of the class. I stumbled over it while doing the navigation dive.

Good job, guys!

I found a dive light with good batteries off Catalina once. But the greatest thing I found was a Whale bone!! It was as big as 3 human heads & it stank! IThere was flesh still hanging on it. It was at Jade Cove in cnetral California. I left it there, right where the waves broke. One of my mentors had arrived earlier & found a weight belt & many fine peices of Jade there.

Points, knives, hand axes, hide scraping tools and a bone pipe. More old bottles than my wife will allow in the house. Couple dozen pairs of sunglasses including 2 pair of oakley's.
