Converted to BP/W with a good deal... Worried about use with single tank (WTX6R)

I do not have all the tools with me to do such thing, at least here... back home I do and will definitely try this. In the meantime do you believe that I could simply cut a rectangular flat shaped plate in Lexan ? A set of doubles wouldn't have the shape of the plate although I understand the approach and reason behind it :)

Some doubles wings have bungees, and can be used with a single tank (OMS, DR).

However, you rarely dive singles, consider renting a singles wing.
