I'm scheduled to head to Palau next month. I am flying through Manila from Hong Kong. While my Marco Polo membership with Cathay has me covered for the excess luggage to Manila, I'm dreading what Continental will charge on the Manila-Koror leg. Will they cut me slack as I have a connecting int'l fllight?

Also, how strict are they on carry on?

2 bags at 50 lbs each is the Continental limit. 2 x 70lbs each if you are flying business class.

I get my big camera backpack and a laptop bag as carryon...

Lots of weight limit Pak. This allows you to bring presents for all those Yapese women...;)

like bras...?:rofl3:

thanks MV... perfect... I've got a lowepro computrekker, but was debating getting the larger plus version to squeeze in some more recently bought ports and lenses. Maybe I'll just keep the old bag and just bring along a small pelican (1450) as carry on...

Crest White Strips......... ;)

I had a lot of stuff and had no problems Pak. Mike the Russians though... All over weight. They tore down the luggage to re-distribute it and still over weight. Ended up paying.

pakman....when are you going to be in Palau?....I am there 3-2 thru 3-15 and who are you diving with?

Travelnsj, we're going Feb 16-23. Palau Aggressor and Big Blue were all booked up so we're going with Pacific Explorer.

If you are able to check your bags all the way to ROR you will escape the excess charge on the way there. Its called an interline baggage agreement, and is common among the major airlines. I have always found the carry on limits pretty lax on Air Mike (CO Micronesia). But plan on paying excess on the return unless you are COelite or flying biz first, in which case you get the 70 lbs.
