Congratulations to Cory Leland who just completed his rEvo ccr cross over training in Key Largo. We dove with Silent World and I have to thank Chris, his captains, and dive store staff for the excellent service accommodating us with ccrs. For us to fly in, they provided us with any cylinders we did not want to fly with, sorb, etc. It is also a nice perk that the captains are fluent with ccrs and know what to look for if a ccr diver is getting ready. They truly go the extra mile to make the experience enjoyable.
Cory was fast to pick up the rEvodream electronics, manual control, buoyancy and trim with his new rEvo Mini III Ti unit. After skills were completed we enjoyed playing with the Goliath Groupers, chasing lobsters, and hours of bottom time on the Spiegel Grove ccr's are the way to maximize bottom time and tour a big wreck!
Cory like several of my students have switched from one ccr to another, not so much on dissatisfaction over the past rebreather but more due to curiosity of features and benefits of what else is out there. Cory commented that he felt comfortable with the solid build of the unit, ease of operation, set up and post dive was a breeze! So another happy rEvo diver look for Cory in Cozumel next, then all over the Great Lakes on deep freshwater shipwrecks.
