I'm going to be in Northern Mauritius through work this month and have a free Sunday. How bad does it get in their "winter" and is the north coast worse for choppy seas? Are we talking 3mm wetsuit or more?

Hi. Was in Mauritius in August 2008. On the west coast around Flic en Flac. Using hire gear from hotel based dive operator. They supplied 5mm suits, which were fine for a warm water diver. Also, I did read suggestions that during their winter the diving is better off of their west coast as it is sheltered from winds and currents coming from the east.
