I was at Cayman Brac last week. The water was warm enough at 82 degrees. I did fine in a skin while I was in the water.

However, it often overcast, cool and windy. It got mighty cold standing around wet in the wind on the surface interval. The lack of sun did not help either. My wife bought a jacket for the surface intervals and that did fine.

You might want to take some warm clothing for top side.

It it was also a little rough. The winds were out of the north so we were only able to do the north side of the island on one day. I hope you have better luck and are able to get over to the north.

it was also a little rough. I was fine. I guess years of diving has given me some sea legs. We did have quite a few people get sea sick. You might want to bring your favorite motion sickness meds.

we did see a fair number of nice big reef sharks.

Have you ever dived in the Caymans in winter?

Early December one year but not in that January/February timeframe. We were fine when we went but I have heard other reports about how you can get some not so Caribbean like conditions top side. That's why about the only place I go this time of year is Bonaire. Just there two weeks ago and it was perfect.

First day of diving in Little Cayman today. Staying at LCBR, went out on Island Sister with Warren and Reggie with only 9 divers on the boat!! Did Dot's Spot, Joy's Joy, and Great Wall West. Water is 80 degrees, visibility 80-100 feet. Weather partly sunny, modest wind. 5 mm suit was perfect, comfortably warm on all 3 hour plus dives, several divers got chiiled. Great room, great food, looking forward to 5 more days of diving.

Irish Warren? I still remember him saying:

"Ok, Darlin', let's get you in the water, now, Darlin"

Hi H2ODoc,

Yes, Irish Warren, he's a real character. He's also really excellent with the small stuff and takes the time to point them out. He does a fantastic briefing with much more useful information and hints to find what you're looking for than you usually get. He's the first one to tell me that Yellowhead Jawfish with eggs will have two dark spots and lines on their necks below the jaw. I immediately put this to good work on Mixing Bowl. Warren gets my recommendation

Good diving, Craig

Day 2 of diving in Little Cayman. The weather was beautiful, warm and sunny with mild wind. We did Cumber's Caves, Mixing Bowl :D, and Busch Gardens. Water was 79-81 degrees, visibility is superb. Highlights were a Yellowhead Jawfish with eggs in the rubble between main and mini wall at Mixing Bowl and a half dozen Banded Jawfish at Busch Gardens.

Tonight was rum punch and hor d'oerves at the bar before dinner. Looking forward to day 3

You're killing me Bro! Just killing me.
