However, don't jump head first into the water while wearing a scuba mask ... I have seen more than one shatter when people do that. They do break and the glass pieces can cut, so just remember to use it for what it is intended ... have fun!

FYI- scuba diving in 2011 will be considered a HAZARDOUS SPORT thanks to our governor now......

Can anyone THANK arnold again.... for all he has done.....

Look it up if you dont believe me...

Might want to start your own post as this has nothing to do with the original topic but feel free to do so and ellaborate on why this is a bad thing (I'm not saying it's not a bad thing - just curious why you think it is).

quick google search tells me this:
"
The law, AB 634 was signed Tuesday by Governor Schwarzenegger and releases the state and local governments from liability in lawsuits associated with SCUBA diving. The bill passed in the Legislature without a “no” vote.

Under existing law, public entities and public employees are generally not liable when a member of the public participates in various “hazardous” recreational activities, including kayaking, surfing, waterskiing, white water rafting, and windsurfing. The bill officially adds SCUBA diving to the list of activities defined as hazardous.

This is actually a good thing for the sport. The intent of the bill is to prevent BS lawsuits - sort of a backdoor tort reform - and limits government liability in cases where someone kills themselves in/on/near a structure owned or placed by a government agency. This bill should provide more diving opportunities in the long run.

Regarding mask safety, we're all going to die! But it won't be from a failure of your mask.

Manufacturer: my mask is tough - it won't break on impact - therefore it's impact resistant.

Lawyer: yes, but if someone throws a sledgehammer from a plane, and it lands on the mask, and the mask shatters, and the head of they guy under the mask shatters as well, his next of kin will sue you because your claims of impact resistance were incorrect.

Manufacturer: right, I'd better say it's impact resistant but not really.
