Ok, trying to figure out a better place to store my computer when diving. I had it on a single fastex buckle that I can't ever get it into position when trying to read it with out twisting my head around 20 ways to sunday. So my question is how do you attach your computers so you can get to them easy and operate them when diving?

I have a swivel snap tied to the computer housing. When setting up I clip it to the left shoulder D-ring so it doesn’t bang on anything. Once in the water I move it to the left hip D-ring. To look at it I simply unhook the snap. When I’m done with it I snap it back. With a little practice it becomes automatic.

I wear my bottom timmer on my right wrist. That allows me to look at it without moving anything except my eye. It also saves me from having to carry a consol which IMO would work better for a poat paddle than anything to do with diving.

I have a Cobra, it wouldn't make much of a paddle. :32:

I definitely advocate going with your computer on the right wrist. You don't have to look down, unclip it or anything. Helps to streamline, and you have nothing dangling like you would with a retractor or clip.

I agree with Mike, on your wrist.

You can attach some computers/timers to one wrist strap that holds both your computer/timer and your compass, with the compass on top, and the other on the side. That way everything is where you can easily see it.

Whether left or right, either wrist is a good place.

My wrists are all used up (back up watch on right wrist, compass on left), so I use a retractor for my computer console. I have it attached to my left shoulder D-ring. Pull it down, take a reading and let it go. Nothing dangles from my gear. Gotta protect that reef. :)

Although the wrist mounts have their good points.

Good luck in your search.

I also have a cobra and I attatch it with one of those bungee things with a snap on it. I attatch it to my left shoulder d ring and the computer just kind of lays there and I usually just have to look down to see it. The bungee is nice too becuase you can easily pull it away to play with it!

here is a pick of the bungee thing...cant think of anything else to call it--they call it "CONS-HOLD" http://s1059kxm.leisurepro.com/stores/leisurepro/images/full/aquch.jpg

I have a Cobra that is attached to my the lower D-ring on my S-Tek using a retractor. Nice and neat. Always where it's supposed to be.

See Pic. I'm in the front.

Hi all,

Since most of you mention wrist to console options, I have a question...

I bought a standard (non-computer) console when I got certified and would now like to get a computer. Would you suggest I continue using my console and getting a wrist computer, or upgrade to a new console?

I like the idea of the wrist computer but have never used any computer.

Thanks for yur help...
