I got some Propeller Tape from a friend that owns an air boat. Maybe the 3M stoneguard is the same thing. Prop tape is fairly easy to find in Florida, especially at boat supply stores. It is thicker than packing tape and does a very good job of protecting my computer.

3M stone gaurd is a product used in the automotive industry primarily automobile graphics people. ( guys who put really cool racing stripes and logos on cars)

It is a clear tape like vinyl ( much thicker) that is clear when applied and removes easily and cleanly.
