I claim the best short term solution that makes sense in the long term is to buy a solid used dive computer. 1 solution.
Failing that the cheapest short term (throw away) is to buy a used obsolete mechanical depth gauge and a timex. If you want to get fancy you could source a "real" scuba bottom timer.
I have a mechanical depth gauge and a bunch of sherwood digital bottom timers in my junk drawer.
Buy new spg's and hoses from an online dealer.
