Just completed my PADI Rescue course this weekend. Tiring as I was suited up for the temperature at depth, but we spent most of the time on the surface where I got a bit warm. Mentally tiring as well because we went over quite a few scenarios. Very good course. Makes you look at the dive site differently.

Now thinking I want to start the Divemaster course.

Congratulations! What shop did you do the class with?

I'm doing my Rescue class in the middle of october with columbia scuba. Then going into divemaster training. not sure when i want to start that though.

That's great. I've been looking into doing the Rescue Course lately but my work schedule is killing me.

congratulations!!!
a good diver is always learning...some things twice!!!!!!
DM-great idea!!
or get some specialties going!
dont forget the fun factor!!!!
good luck

Congrats! I think Rescue is the most important class to take in order to become a safe, aware diver. It's the most physically demanding course, but well worth it. Make sure to practice now and then to keep your skills up.

The DM course is the most mentally demanding course (at least it was for me), but also very beneficial. Good luck with it. Keep learning!

Congrats.

I really enjoyed doing rescue class and I got a lot out of it.

It does make you look at the site differently, and I have found myself really watching other divers since then... keeping track of them if we are in a group, etc., even if I don't know them.

Congrats on completing your cert! I have to agree that it's a worthwhile course to take. I just completed mine recently as well.

I feel that it just made me that much more observant when around other divers I don't know.

I really enjoyed my course, grueling difficult as it was.

Until you've run through the rescue scenarios and had to actually do the exercises you really have no idea how difficult it truly is. addition, the EFR, CPR & AED class is much improved since I took them in the late 80's as a teen.

I'm moving on to DM as well but I am going to take my time and refine a few skills before I complete it before the end of this year.
