After removing my SK7 compass from it's console mount in expectation of Tobin's wrist mount, I got to looking at it a few minutes ago. I was pleased to find that even after 3 years it has no bubbles at all.

However, the front line on it is faded quite a bit. This is not the lubber line on top, but the one that faces the diver. The one on top is still quite red, but the one on the front is almost white. Is there anything I can paint it with to make it more visible? I was thinking nail polish maybe, but I don't want to degrade the plastic. What do you guys think?

I'm looking at mine right now and I see what you mean. I just used a Sharpie on it, running it down the groove. I'll let it dry and givie it a couple of extra coats.

LOL. You sound real concerned about my impending doom...... :D

Okay, sounds good. *takes a deeeeep breath* I'll give it a shot...

EDIT: *whew* Done. (yes, my dive gear is piled around my desk. well, some of it anyway...) Looks pretty good

Doc Intrepid:
Sharpies aren't DIR. You're gonna die.

< just kidding :D >

I use Sharpies too (black). works great.

But Doc, you might be right... as soon as I marked it with that Sharpie a cold chill came over the room.

Mind you that might have been the AC.
;)
