Switching wings and STA is something I do fairly often... single tank wing + STA for a single tank and doubles wing for doubles.

In a 3/2 full suit, a SS plate and AL80 tank I wouldn't need any weight in salt water, adding the hooded vest I would probably need a couple lbs so I would just go with a weight belt -- low cost, low risk of failure, packs very well, and easy to source if you forget it at home and you're on a trip. There are plenty of pocket options, too

Are you going to go on the Coz invasion in a couple months?

I had to choose between buying gear and going to Coz. So unless I get an unexpected windfall, it ain't happening.

I'm not a skinny guy. I couple dozen lbs ago, a 2pc 3mil with a vest BCD and AL80 was (I think) 18lbs in fresh. Now I've gained a few lbs but switching to a 3/2 with 5/3 hooded vest. So maybe that's a watch and take 6lbs off for the BP/W? So maybe 12lbs? I just won't know until I get in the pool.

If your still looking for someone to dive with I'm open I just moved here from Southern California and could use some dive freinds..

Yup, still in the process. I've got a tank getting hyro'd as we speak and a BP/W and Reg in the mail. I hope to be in the pool this weekend working on locking in my kit and getting my weight / trim right. After that I need to practice skills with it all and then hopefully by memorial day weekend I'll be ready to get wet.

My BP/W and regs came in yesterday! Doubt it'll be this weekend with all the rain and mothers day but I think I'm about ready to hit the pool. It's taking some time but I can feel the progress.

I made my first dive at Windy Point on Wednesday and I could easily be convinced to do a couple more dives this afternoon / tonight. ( I have a hall pass from the Mrs.)

Is anyone interested?

A lot of people will be out Sunday at WP. I don't do the south Austin to WP drive on Friday afternoons.

The problem is obtaining hall passes from the family. I'll have to keep working on that. :)

I tell her what im doing, but my pimp hand is strong. In your case it may be easier to get forgiven than permission.

:rofl3::shocked2:;)

I have another opportunity to hit it Sunday morning but be home by 2pm. The quary I used to dive in Virginia has a "church club" that met Sunday mornings. Is anyone interested?

I'll be at Windy Point bright and early 8AM tomorrow in case anyone else is there.
