Should I bring tanks from Dallas or rent in town?
I would either take tanks or call ahead and make sure you can get some. Shaggie and I tried to make a dive on the Comal after our Canyon dive in January and neither of the two shops could provide us with a fill that day.

It's a fun dive. Nice water temperature, decent vis, and turtles and other life to see.
 
I was at Schlitterbahn this last sunday, and saw at least 2 guys prepping/packing up their dive gear in the back of a truck by the post for the big swing ride in one of the parks...

They either couldn't hear me shouting asking how the diving was, or decided to ignore me.
