Hi.. just wondering if anyone knew what temperature ranges a 7/5 semi-dry would be effective in. I may be diving this weekend in 45 degree water, and didn't know if I should wear a 3/2 shorty underneath, or if the 7/5 semi-dry would work by itself.

Thanks in advance for any help...

I dive in the Henderson semi-dry and have been on dives in the low 40's with the semi-dry. It was pretty darn cold.

For water temperatures in that range, if you have the shorty, wear it.

I wouldnt get in that without a drysuit.

Even 2 x 7mm layers of neoprene thats going to feel cold.

I do ok in a 7mm semi-dry in those temps for about 45-50 minutes. I would wear the shorty underneath it. I also would suggest in good dry-gloves with seals on the wrists, and neoprene socks to wear in the boots. Short and shallow dives would also be suggested. Bring hot water to dump into the suit before the dives. Also bring some warm food/beverages to warm up your core after your dive.
