I dive with an AL Titan LX, and I am happy with it, for now. I find myself diving in colder (40s) and deeper water as I get more experienced. My reg does not have the cold kit. I was thinking of upgrading my reg or at the very least adding the cold water kit. Does it pay to get this upgrade?

I am also thinking about getting a new reg and I am looking at the Legend Supreme. I can pick up a NIB Legend Supreme second stage for about $170, but I don't know if it pays do do this since I can't buy a Legend 1st stage separately.

Should I snag this second stage? Is it a good deal? Should I save up and buy the 1st and second stages together? Should I maybe buy an Apeks first stage and combine it with the Legend Supreme second? Or should I just keep the old reg, save my money and hope that it doesn't freeze up on me?

I have the Titan LX and had the same question. I contacted Aqualung and learned the only difference between the Titan LX and the Titan LX Supreme is the enviromental kit, the lip shield and a different tuning. I ended up getting the enviro kit and tuning to my LX and it cost me $75.00. It was a lot cheaper then a new reg and I really like the Titan since it is almost bullet proof. I now dive with a Legend LX since I got a great deal on one that I could't refuse but there is nothing wrong with the Titan and there is hardly any noticable breathing difference between the two

....it's a no-brainer, I wish all my gear decisions/choices were this easy/obvious.....I had my Titan LX upgraded to the dry-sealed-enviro-kit a while back....something like $50-$75 parts/labor total, it's wonderful when one can usefully/cheaply upgrade a very good regulator so easily...I'd go for it unless you just have $ burning a hole in your pocket and want to spring for a Legend anyway and have no other scuba gear you need/desire first.

I have had the titan lx supreme for 3 years now and have had no problems at all. Did ice diving with them and not an issue at all, breaths very good but breaths too dry and i get dry month bad. I do enjoy these reg. , solid performer and good breathing.
