The inevitable day of departure has arrived. I am at once ready to go back to the familiar surroundings of home, yet saddened by the thought of what I will leave behind. Our stay at Cocoview has been one of the most relaxing and easiest of our many dive vacations. I have no doubt we will return.
We finished our last dives yesterday morning. It was our anniversary and I was determined to make it special. We hired Tim to photograph our dive to have something to remember it by. The price was $125 for two dives and well worth it. He really is a master with the camera. The pictures he took turned out absolutely fabulous. The only hitch was a mass of floating garbaged washed into the sea by the heavy rains that pummeled the mainland. However, we did our best to grab as much of it as we could. Still, the dive was one of the best of trip as we crusied along the top of Neuman's Wall looking into every crack and crevice.
In the afternoon we pampered ourselves with massages at the spa. It was $50 for an hour of pure relaxation. She mainly did a swedish massage stopping to do some deep tissue whenever she found a knot. She found a nasty one in my wife's back and did her best to get rid of it. I highly recommend this experience.
The evening provided great entertainment and some time to spend with new friends. One of the wonderful opportunities provided by Cocoview is a chance to get to meet a lot of people. We were seranaded by an island band thanks to our friends and several rounds of drinks. We finished the evening off with a showing of Master and Commander. All and all a very nice anniversay.
An importnat piece of advice is to shed an propesity to be a recluse and introduce yourself around. We got to know many of the other guests and made our own entertainment. We had movie nights and game nights and many chats at the bar. Of course the sad part of making new friends is having to say good bye. One indispensible item is an address book of some kind, it saves on all the little scraps of paper.
We just turned in our paperwork and settled our account. We spoke with the manager about the incident with the drawing and she was very sympathetic. She promised to ensure more clear communication and is even adding a new bulliten board on the wall that you see as you enter the dining room. It will have the schedule of events, the menu, etc.. I really appreciated her tact.
Well, the trip is coming to a close and now so does my account. I hope it was informative and a wish you all a wonderful stay at this truly wonderful resort. Maybe we'll see you next year!
