My wife, spotter and overall best dive buddy on earth became Coconuts last week.
Missed the tropical storm by less than an hour and had stellar weather all week.
We really love Coco and i can add very little to the normal reports posted here.
We met an old friend and member of the Funky Bacon Dive Club there. We were lucky enough to get our favorite Dm (Jesse) and captain (Ruben). We also got particularly lucky with a boat full of highly experienced divers with great consumption rates and buoyancy control. This allowed for longer than normal dives and some profiles I had not seen before.
Dove Sponge Garden for the 1st time and I must say it may be the prettiest dive I have done there.
Seems like we see more turtles every year there. Less lion fish than last year and many Juvenile critters. Got some shots of stuff I had not seen there before (see link below if you are really bored).
The food is still standard Coco fair but that is not why we keep going back.
The only down side was the "Tour de France". I have an embarrassing large camera rig but strive to be the exception to the rule. A group on another boat was classic. Lots of high end video equipment, high dollar regs and at least one HUD mask. And zero buoyancy skills. The kicking style was classic bicycle (thus the "tour de France"). Don't get me wrong, we all started somewhere and all had to earn our skills but some of this group appeared to think they had bought their skills.
Anyway, another awesome trip with great people. Cant wait for the next one.
