Come to my rescue once again SB! I'm taking a girl on a date, kind of. In other words, I'm going to ask her out while we are on the trip, so it'll begin innocuously but it'll become a date. Basically myplan was to go out to Cocoa Beach for sunset on Friday, eat dinner on the beach and ask her out. Then we'll spend the night hanging out on the beach, maybe I'll bring a movie to watch or maybe we'll go walk for hours on end or maybe we'll make goofy photographs with glowsticks and long exposure, who knows? Then we'll photograph the sunrise (she is learning to take photographs with film and I am ehlping herlearn how to shoot so as to avoid wasting too many exposure, that's the primary purpose of the trip as far as she is concerned), maybe swim for a while, then head back.

I'm in the Orlando area, and was planning on going to Cocoa Beach. Lori Wilson park is a nice place and I thought it was open 24/7, but some new info suggests it closes at dark. Is there a beach in the area there that is open all night, with bathrooms? I'm sure there are ways to sneak onto beaches but having bathrooms is a definite plus, so the people at McDonald's don't look at us oddly when we visit every few hours and never buy any food....

SB helped me cook up a great dinner last year for this girl's roommates, who introduced me to this girl, and after cooking her some dinners without SB's help (I stopped making things which required fancy cheeses...), I'm going to ask her out this weekend one way or another, I just hav eto figure out the specifics.

Thank you so much!

If you go below 16th St South you are out of city limits...you pretty free to do most that you want...fires etc.

All the streets except 16th are wide open...but fires and sleeping on the beach are a no no. The streets begin where the road splits and stop at 18th. They have parking meters but I believe the meters aren't enforced at night. On 13th St (where I live) you can park free in the area just above 13th on A1A. Unfortunately, no rest facilities.

An alternate plan would be to get a "Mom & Pop" hotel and you would have everything you need. Check this place out: Beach Place. Tell them that my wife (Cheryl Bartoszek, she hangs with Mary Moon) . Maybe you will get a discount!

Right there at 16th I see a parking lot...is that somewhere you can park?

We won't be having fires though i had thought about candles, and we probably won't be sleeping on the beach either. I just don't want some police officer to show up and arrest me at 3 in the morning for breaking the law :D

Idon't quite understand

And could you tell me...piers, is there a pier somewhere at Cocoa Beach? Also, Mcdonalds or gas stations or places with bathrooms open 24/7 :D

Thanks for the info!!

(oh the silly things I ask on SB....)

All the streets have parking....just that 16th is a city park and they close at dusk. You won't find any restrooms open after dark except at eating or drinking facilities. All the other beaches...they'll leave you alone...we are not aware of any curfews and have been on the beach at all hours of the night...sometimes drinking heavily

The pier is at the north end of town. If you are coming in from the Beachline (528) it's across from the from the first Publix you see. McDonalds is little further down across from Ron Jon...there are plenty of gas stations.

A great restaurant is the Surf...My son works there as a waiter...ask for him to be your server!

Can you reccomend a street with some places which would have restrooms nearby, with parking? Thanks :)

Now the pier, is it open after dark? Do they have restrooms there? Do people swim there?

What are prices like at The Surf? She's a pescaterian who's allergic to shellfish, she does eat some fish though like salmon but mostly she's a vegeterian. I like the girl but I'm on a student's budget :) And what's your son's name? Does he work this Friday night? Oh and what hours are they open?

Thanks a ton for all the info!!!

There is a restaurant and bar at the pier, they stay open very late...yes people swim there and the pier is a surfing mecca...I've seen people surfing at night there. The restaurant is pricey...more than the Surf. The Surf has a lot of variety...some super salads...award winning! My son's name is Austin...He's working tonight...check on his schedule tomorrow

Ok cool, great stuff to know! I'm trying to find a menu or something from the restaurant so I'd know what to expect price wise...and plans might change, I might be going out ther ethursday night/friday morning, so if you could find out his schedule that friday afternoon if he's working, if I happen to go there I'll ask for him and even try to tip un-stingingly :D
