Can someone, who has stayed at CoCo View, give me an idea on the additional costs? Is there a 16% tax added to the quoted price and a 15% fee for tip (based on room cost) added at the end of the stay?

Do you also add the 16% and 15% to the cost of Nitrox?

I realize that prices are what prices are, I just like to know everything in advance.

Thanks

P.S. We will be going on our own, not with a group, so answers with that in mind are what I am looking for.

there will definitely be a 16% tax, standard sales tax in honduras is 12%, anything tourism related is taxed at the higher 16% rate.

As with all resorts in Honduras the added tax is 16%. Tips to resort staff and dive crews not included and are at your discretion.

How Much Are Taxes?
Departure taxes are not included in your package and are approximately $39/person (subject to change); this tax must be paid in cash at the airport on the day of departure. Sales tax on the island is 12%, tax on alcohol is 15% and hotel tax is 16%.

How Does Tipping Work?
We have a general tip pool here at CoCo View. You will find an envelope in your departure packet (additional envelopes are available in the main office) and can place your tip money in the collection box located in the main office. The pool consists of employees from the bar, kitchen, food serving, housekeeping, and maintenance staff. The two dive staff members that fill tanks are also included in this pool.
As for our dive staff, please tip your assigned Dive Master and Boat Captain directly at the end of the week. All of the dive staff is available on Fridays. If, however, you are unable to locate either your dive master or captain, please obtain an envelope from the main office and deposit the envelope in the lock-box. Be sure to write the names of your dive master and captain on the outside of the envelope and instructions as to how you want your tip distributed.
Tips generally run 10-15% of your hotel package price. However, please feel free to leave what you wish. Tipping is based on service. If you feel a particular member of our staff has been more than helpful and would like to designate a portion of the general tip to a certain worker, or leave a special acknowledgment to a certain worker, feel free to either hand them their tip personally, or mark the information on the outside of an envelope, place it in the collection box, and we will see that it’s honored.
For those of our guests who like to leave behind small items for the housekeeper, we ask that you place these items, on the pillow so that she can easily see that you intended to leave it to her and that it is not something accidentally left behind.

Personally....
I am a nitrox Instructor. I don't use nitrox during my 5x a day at CocoView~ the interesting stuff is shallow.

Let the derisive cries of heresy and horror begin.

They also offer some specialty trips to go on also, that will cost you even a few more bucks. Last year my package price was $1350, after taxes, tips, nitrox, shark dive, island tour on last day, I was closer to $2K.

.
I too am a nitrox instructor and dive nitrox on Roatan regularly HOWEVER, I choose to dive with roughly 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95 oxygen mix, I do not use an O2 analyzer as I know it was signed off on by God Himself or Herself

What's your other .95% of the mix, Nitrous Oxide?

The same Misc that is in your EAN, Yours just has a slightly lower percentage due to the diluting the natural mix with added O2

I always wanted to get a shirt with AIR written across it like those who thought Nitrox was all that back in the day, So many were confused when I would tell them many of my dives are too deep for nitrox so for safety I dive with air.
