Hello,

I can't believe the vacation I have been planning for so long is finally here! This will be my first vist to a dive resort and I think I picked a good. I will be traveling with my wife and 14 year old daughter. I would love to know and meet any of you that will be there on the same dates. We are not dive experts by any means, so any help would be great.

This trip was a gift from my family for my fiftieth birthday. In reality I am paying for it, but they agreed it will be money well spent. I have got lots of DEET free bug repelent and all the gear I hope we will need. I still can't make heads or tails of the Continental baggage rules, so I figure I will be spending money. One woman on the phone took twenty minutes explaining the rules and then said whooops.. you are traveling during an embargo time. She started to begin again and I hung up. It's too frustrating for a trip that is going to make me so happy.

So we will see you there... I started counting the days 200 days ago...

I just can't believe the day is almost here!

Hi! My friends and I will be arriving as your leaving :depressed: Sorry we'll miss you, but I'm sure you're going to have an excellent time. I've heard and read good things about CCV.

Oh golly, you will be there the same time as a motley bunch of characters aka known as Dive Camp. HOWEVER, we are a very friendly and welcoming bunch of divers. We and all of CoCo Chat welcome any questions you might have, no matter how stupid you may think it is. We LOVE answering those questions over and over, it just means you are interested. We'll see you there!!

K8! I'll see you there :D

Hope you have a great time. Would love to hear about taking kids to CocoView. We are staying in West Bay but my kids are older.
Have fun....

Yes ma'am!! Can't wait to finally meet you. My flight gets into RTB at 2-something, so I might be the last one there. Bruce is arriving on the 1st. I told everyone they had better diving or meeting me a the dock with a cold Salva Vida.

If anyone else sees a single lady at IAH, with long red hair and a baby blue Dive Camp t-shirt, please say HEY!! OR once we get there look for the one with the drum fish tattoo (see my avatar). I also have a seahorse tattoo on my upper back.

My understanding is that COCO View does not allow kids at all unless they are certified to dive and are there to dive!

My kids are 19 and 20 and have both been diving for about 7 years now. I meant kids around their age..They will always be my kids no matter how old...right?

I don't know about that rule, but my daughter is certified and will probably "dive" me under the table:depressed: Thanks for all the great responses. I signed up at the chat site. The 4th can not come quick enough!!!

As far as the dive camp goes... we cxan't wait to meet you.

tbrady, WELCOME!! Have you all been there before? Any and all questions can be answered here or on Coco Chat. See you then!

Myself and 3 others will be there from the April 10-21. Getting pumped as well as the time creeps up.

What is this embargo that was spoken of earlier?

During certain times of travel seasons, the airlines really take advantage of passengers who are on shopping expeditions for their families in Central America. They may have been sent North to shop, or possibly they are returning to visit for Christmas or Easter (Semana Santa).

They apply different restrictions and fees, all of which you should be able to ascertain in advance.

We fly from Chicago and always buy our tickets all together. Most of the time, you are treated in a different International Class from your departure airport back home.

Check your airline regulations with care, maybe even print a set up or ask your travel agent to provide a copy.
