I was on the dive boat at Coco View in Roatan and was putting my Gemini on my wrist next to my Suunto SK7 and the next thing I notice is that my computer is on the deck of the boat. ( better than the bottom ) in any event the strap broke at the buckle. It just let go with no warning it is two pieces that are molded together. I called Cochran and they say they have not encountered this problem before. they are sending me a new strao at no cost. I took off the strap and used rubber hose to hold the computer on for the balance of the trip. Any one else have any strap problems and ideas on a solution for the future.

I used ductm tape and it tore the hair off my arm.

Funny, a lot of people would have said that the best place for a Cochran WAS on the bottom. Of the Mariana Trench.

Presumably they haven't had this problem before because they've never had a computer last long enough for the strap to break.

Are you sure the strap broke? Perhaps your fine Suunto instrument was offended by the proximity of a Cochran product and cut it off?

Seriously though, can you not jury rig something out of bungy cord until your new strap arrives?

Cochran has already shipped me a strap. I am not sure I am going to use it though. I think I am going to rig up a bungee configuration similar to what I use on my Suunto compass. As far as the computer it self I like the Gemini.
