Ok, I am wanting to do this just for the scenic view...where do I start? Are there places that can BRIEFLY train you and hook you up with some rental equipment.

I definatley don't want to be killing anything....never thought of that.ckharlan66:We all understand the desire to get in and get wet as soon as possible but while if you understand Scuba and the techniques involved this is a safe sport it can be dangerous. Also if you are looking to enjoy the scenic views you will need to spend some time with an instructor who will teach you good bouyancy control because if you don't have that you will be accidently touching the reefs you are heading down to see. Everytime that happens you kill the spot you touch so you want to make sure your training prepares you to be able to enjoy the enviroment without doing damage to it or yourself.
Once you take the time to get quality training you will fall in love with the sport like we all have and you will be able to enjoy it for years to come.
Good luck.
