Just a reminder, that we have a Clipper Trip scheduled for Aug 2nd. Yes there are still a few spots left. This is the time of year when the whale sharks move through the area, as was witnessed last weekend. And, this trip has a bonus for anyone not in the protected witness program. There will be a videographer from TPWD on the trip, filming the progress of the ship as an artificial reef, for an upcoming PBS special. As part of his filming, he wants to interview some divers on the surface and film them during the dives. Yes, you too can be on TV.:D

It gets even better. The hotel across the street from the marina has a new special for divers. Rooms are going for $99.00 / night for divers. The fall rate is $59.00 / night. Thats a great deal.

Call or come by Oak Hill Scuba to sign up. Seating is limited.

Out of curiosity, what's the cost(# of dives) for a Clipper Trip?? and how far offshore is the wreck???.TIA...

Second chucksaul. What kind of dive schedule are we talking about here? I have to work M-F. Could burn one or two days off work; but if this is a 5 day commitment thing, then I am out.

The dive is scheduled for Saturday, Aug 2nd. For the last trip, we drove down on Friday and stayed in a hotel. Meet the boat at 6:30 for briefing and load in. Leave the dock about 7:30, 3 dives and get back to the dock about 3 - 4. Most of us spent a 2nd night at the hotel and returned on Sunday.

FYI, these dives is definitely best done on Nitrox.
