I have been boating on erie for couple years now, and just purchased a 34' boat not a dive boat but I suppose it could be. I have a certification but no dive experince. Looking for someone who could help me in exchange for transportion to sites.

I see a flock starting to this thread...

Be careful what you wish for! We have some obsessive wreck divers here. Although I am innocent of that charge...

I live in Chicago, but my family is in Cleveland so I visit frequently, especially in the summer. I'll get some dives in with you. Where are you docking your boat?

As of right now I'll be trailering it. Boat is a 34' scarab (miami vice boat)we'll being towing it with a dually so any part of the lake will be possible.

Even better!
Shoot me a PM when the weather begins to break. I have several cylinders of various sizes to avoid having to run in for fills etc. My family has a place on Kelleys Island in the western basin. Shallow stuff on that end but vis has been good. Slightly deeper off Cleveland. I'll be trying to get to the Gilboa gathering if your interested to blow the dust off.

We live in WV, not that far from Cleveland. We're always interested in checking out a new view. So if you need buddies, just shhot a PM my way.

Seriously, I would be willing to fork over for gas (my share) and dive with you. I haven't dove in Erie yet, so it would all be new to me as well. I am adding Whitefish Point to my resume this year, but that is a little far for you.

I'd be willing to hitch it down there with you Brian. I could set a course to intersect you, you know have drysuit will travel.

Scarab, I don't think they will let you drop your boat in at Gilboa unless you plan on sinking it, but plan on making the Meet & Greet posted in a sticky at the top of our section. You will surely have a number of new dive buddies.
