I just don't log dives
To reset the dive log:

You can clear the dive log by changing the user name in the personal info screen to "RESET-TIS---" That is RESET, followed by a dash, TIS, followed by dashes to fill out the remaining spaces. When you press the SELECT button afterwards, the entire dive log memory will be erased. This is irrevocable, so be sure you want to do it- it was intended for dealers who might rent these computers and needed to clear the tissues between rentals.
Afterwards be sure to change the user name back to whatever you want. The Cobalt will always default to the user settings as of the end of the last dive if it is reset in the future (as when updating firmware), so you won't lose your settings once you have another dive on it.
