I just got another D400 (my third) I realized why I got it so cheap after it arrived...It smells/tastes like it has been buried an ashtray for the last 10 years...Any advice on something safe to soak it in?? Tried a mild vinegar/water solution...afraid to leave it in for too long...new mouthpiece...but still tastes like I'm breathing through a used cigarette filter...Worst case, I could try to learn to service a 400 with it, I guess.
