Nice dive today. I wasn't expecting much with the low vis of previous weekends and the wind yesterday. 89' for dive time of 61 min. Water temp was 48 degrees. Saw enough stuff that I forgot that it was cold:D. We dove down to the three big rocks, then onward to the pool filters and the 40' ledge with the Budda and the cow skull. Then we dropped down to the angel statue, through the trench and left (south) and downward to the 80' wall. Saw lots of small fish at depth. Vis was suprisingly good (6'). We continued south to the missle and upward to the plane. I entered the plane through the front and ran into a cloud of small fish (filled the interior). Large crappie and bass were around too. We then headed to the ski boat and back along the rocks to the plan and then to our exit. Vis was 8-10' along the rocks, 6' on the wall.

Andy,
As soon as I get over being sick, I will return to diving. Hunting season is over until Turkey season (March, April, May). Also shark tooth hunting during the summer. One day at the lake and the other in the Edisto River.

Sunday was also a good dive. 93' for dive time of 59 min. Vis was about the same as Sat. Some fish life seems to be returning. Nice cat on the wall. I am one who believes in maintaining a dive log with notes about what I see on dives. It always amazes me how from year to year certain fish events seem to follow the calendar. Reading my log for 07 and 08, small hatchlings were found around the big stump the same time each year (within a week: last weekend of Jan/first weekend of Feb). Saw them Sunday. On a similiar note, there was this article in our local paper regarding Groundhog Day. General Beauregard Lee (our Southern grounghog prognosticator here in Georgia) has a 94% accuracy rate in predicting whether or not we will have an early Spring. A meterologist was also quoted in the same article as saying that we should really look to meterological analysis and science considering the La Nina's etc. for a more accurate prediction. WAIT A MINUTE!!! SINCE WHEN HAS OUR WEATHERMEN HAD a 94% accuracy rate :rofl3: The fix is in: Beauregard says for us folks in the South - we will have an early Spring.
