Three of us dove the lake today. Conditions were overcast with minimal wind. Air temp was 49. Water temp was 54 degrees (pretty much top to bottom). After the 30K winds last Sunday and the rain I wasn't sure what to expect for vis. When the lake is so low and the clay and silt is exposed, waves from the wind can silt things out. However, we had descent vis. Above 45' we had about 10-12', 45-60 in the 6' range,8' on the 80 foot wall, and about 4' on the 100' wall. The lake is down 13.5' so the 100' wall is really 86.5'. Lots of small fish life at depth today and one nice size cat. We dove the 40' ledge, past the angel statue, through the trench and down to the 100' wall (cat sited at 86'). We dove much of the 100' wall and ascended up to the 55' wall and went to the big stump where we made our turn. We returned along the 55' wall dropping down a bit. We entered the trench , but swam up and over the S. wall of the trench and dropped down to the 80' wall (at 66.5' today). The 80' wall had lots of hydrilla (it is dying off and drifting down to depth) hanging over the wall with lots of small fry in it. Passing the log with the dive flag we began our ascent to the three big rocks (another mass of hydrilla and small fry) and onward to the plane. With the lake down our safety stop began today at the plane (18' on top of wing). We continued along the bouyancy course to the ski boat and the wen up slightly to 15' and returned to shore. 59 minutes with max depth of 91'. We dove wet (7mm fullsuits, hoods and gloves).
