I have a Zeagle horseshoe wing and dive dry in the NW. I do notice air trapped, and sometimes one side. So I've been thinking about a donut instead if it makes equalizing/dumping easier.. I run close on my weight, so towards the end of the dive, I literally have to roll on my back and sit upright to get that last air out of my BC, which is really annoying. All the other options dont do it. (butt up dump, roll, shoulder raise, etc).

Ease of venting is related to tank wrap, and has almost nothing to do with horseshoe vs donut. A Donut wing of the wrong shape, i.e. lots of tank wrap, will be hard to vent and a properly designed horseshoe with little tank wrap will be easy to vent.

Gas *always* goes to the high point in any wing.
