I'll be in Cincinnati visiting my wife's relatives (ugh!) over Labor Day weekend. Are there any sites close by? Gilboa is too far. I'll jump into just about any mud puddle.

the nearest quarries are about 90 mintues away. There is Blue Springs in Waldron, IN and Falling Rock Park in La Grange, KY. My pick would be Blue Springs.

There is also Natural Springs Resort in New Paris OH. Really shallow (18 ft average, 25 ft in the trench) but the facilities are really nice if you need to drag the family along.

Here's their website. I can't get it to work because you need some sort of "flash player" whatever that is. The owner said he was going to take that flash thing off but evidently he hasn't yet. If you only get a screen saying they close in November and open in May or a green screen then you need to download flash player from somewhere.

I had never heard of that place. Where is New Paris in relation to Dayton?

BTW Ber, any chance you would be able to or want to dive Portage on the 26th? I am looking at a buddy for a drysuit demo.

I think its about 30 or so miles west of Dayton....a few miles west of the junction of rt 40 & rt 127...

Jchoby gets the prize! It's almost to the Indiana border, you can get there via I-70 or US 40 (west).

Sorry Cstreu, no Portage for me I'll be driving back from Panama City that weekend--oh DARN! Want to run off to Florida with us? We're leaving tomorrow and diving all week.
