Vado spesso a Camogli per andare al Promontorio di Porto Fino.

cool... thanks for the link. i have only been here since january and have not had the chance to dive croatia although i've been checking it out. i'm going to be in friuli next week most likely... how far into croatia do you have to go to hit some good sites? also, what's vis like on that side of the adriatic?

i'm going to be in friuli next week most likely... how far into croatia do you have to go to hit some good sites? also, what's vis like on that side of the adriatic?

Udine is 1h driving from Trieste. Then add a couple of hours more. You can do it waking up early in the morning and being back in the evening.
Good spots in Northern Croatia:Istria. All along the shore from Fiume (Rjieka) to Pola (Pula). Best place Brsec, maybe.
Then the islands in Quarnaro Gulf: Cherso (Cres), Veglia (Krk).
Good for wreck diving (mostly of WW2)

Visibility can be 30 meters, but it decreases dramatically when South wind (scirocco, or yugo) blows.
Water temp is 12-14°C under 22 m all year long.
