Leesa, the construction at Makapu'u looks like a pretty massive parking lot. Now, its coned off and the trail just diverts you around the construction. So beautiful up there, many whales, of course. Next year's card? Maybe at dusk with a lighted, decorated sailboat cruising by..... I have quite the imagination. off to the Mandarin today, still no kidlets......Merry Christmas!

hey Catherine,
Sorry I never got back with you about diving or the hike, but Brittney fell down the stairs and landed on her back. She can walk and what not, just really sore still. I tried to get her an appt. and see what the DR. wanted to do, but they are closed until Tuesday. Gotta love the military hospitals. Tripler was open but I didn't want to sit in the emergency room for 8 hrs. She still says her back is sore so maybe on Tuesday I will get her in. We are going to Bellows in a few minutes and do some boogie boarding.

Leesa- sorry to hear about the knees. I have arthritis in both knees so I know about the pain.
Catherine- how's the finger? I read your post earlier (from Palau). How's everything going now?

We dove the Blowhole yesterday. The hike pretty much did us in. Vis was okay. The end of the dive it started getting pretty surgey. I was holding on to anything I could to avoid getting slammed into the lava rocks. We made it out and up the hill okay. Guess since Vince went back to work today the surf is going down.

The hike is the reason why I won't even consider this dive - it just sounds too taxing. The sites available this time of year for shore diving is pretty much why I only get out once a month during winter.

I wouldn't mind more dives, but the boat dives get expensive, the shore dives require more exertion than I'd like - oh, and did I mention the water temperature? I know, I'm such a whiner.
