We are eyeing Curacao for the first time early 2024. We generally rent a larger house, with a mix of divers, snorkelers, and non divers.

My question is, what areas suit this well? Williamstead seems tough to find a place big enough, but are there other areas with bars/restaurants/shops?

An area called Jan Thiel seems like it has lots of properties that would accommodate our group of 6-8/10.

Thanks!

Westpunt (where allwest is located) may be too quiet and remote for what you have described. There is no real shopping, no market and no night life that I am aware of. There are a handful of restaurants. Maybe a location closer to the city would be better if you are looking for bars (assuming nightlife) and shopping.

Just got back from spending last week in Curaçao, we stayed in a property that would easily accommodate 12 people, on the west edge of Jan Thiel, by Willemstad. Need a few cars to get around, but depending on how you want to do your shore diving, that's probably something you're already considering.

We have been 3 times and enjoy Coral Estates. Dive shop right beaidethe water with 3 restaurant's super close and easy walk.
Lots of houses to rent.
A Dutch website to check is…

well honestly you cannot go too wrong anywhere on the island. jan thiel has some great dive sites like directors bay and tugboat wall with plenty topside. traffic out of jan thiel to anywhere west in the am sucks no SUCKS. Westpundt remote but not horribly a 45 min drive and you are in punda, We stay sea aquarium and Sta Martha. Driving is easy so dont worry there... easy to get around.

We are looking at Coral Estates for a summer trip. Did you happen to snorkel? Wondering if there's decent snorkeling there or close by for the non-divers in our group?
