I am looking to buy my first regulator set and BC. I am trying to decide between the Poseidon cyclones and the Aqualung legend lx. In the BC's I am looking at the Poseidon powerlift verses the Tusa Platina Evolution.

I would greatly appreciate advice on the pros and cons of the above gear, and any recommendations that you can give me.

Thanxs

Have you tried using the Search tool...?

I'm searching for a reg also. I've decided I will buy one in June.

One source of information is to first select the shop where you will have your anual service done or narow it down to two shops. Then you talk to the guy who does the work. He may be able to tell you which regs have the least or the most problems. Or maybe one brand of parts are either expensive or in short supply.

I'm finding that over a reg's life I will have paid more for service than for the initial purchace. So I'm thinking ahead.

You're really at opposite ends of the spectrum here... Kind of like, I'm looking to buy a vehicle... either a ford 350 diesel pickup, or a ferrari...

The thing to do is get hooked up with someone you can talk to and trust - and let them get a feel for what you want to do with diving. Poseidon regs are not the easiest to service, and normally don't breath too good until you get some depth - but put out more air at depth than any other reg... So if you're trying to do 300 foot dives - the poseidon is a great reg. For 30-90 foot recreational dives - I think you could get better breathing for less money.

So try to hook up with a shop, instructor, someone that can figure out what you want - then point you toward the right gear for your needs.
