He was wanting a little much for it, but idk if that included his spare air that was attached to the unit.

Oh, no! Now the "get a BP/W" thread is going to morph into a Spare Air thread! Good thing that RJP is here, no one ever said it better...

I just checked the price on the Aqua Lung Balance BC the OP mentioned. It is $535 and I believe not much of a discount can be given. Then there is a nice BP/W setup for $360. Gee, which one is cheaper?

I bought my Balance new for about $250, I have now switched to a BP/W - Deep Sea Supply.

I'm new here, idk what grouping of words send everybody off the deep end. Evidently it can be anything from some of the threads that I have read.

Hahah... that's the fun of Scuba Board! And remember, we all LOVE going off the deep end...

:)

I dive a back inflate and love it.....I may move to a BP/W one day but I'm OK for now....I do have some experience with them though, on my last dive down in Mexico, one woman on the boat had one.....We were diving the C-58 wreck...it was a really nice dive, lots of fish and a pretty nice current running across the wreck....its too bad the woman missed it .. she was still on board trying to figure out how to put her rig together when I came up.......She may be a candidate for a jacket BC on her next dive trip....:D

and yes, this really did happen .

Yes I tried all the systems listed in the lds's pool. I was thinking that since he was a shorter man that the bc might be riding a little high on me. I did adjust the crotch strap out to accommodate my longer body, but it didn't make much difference. The travel bp is shaped like a reinforced I. After doing some research on building one I might go back and adjust it out. I have a few more questions for him. He was wanting a little much for it, but idk if that included his spare air that was attached to the unit.

It sounds like the shoulders might have been too tight, causing the plate to sit high. Anyhow, I think you can get a oxycheq set up with a steel plate and a mach V wing from caveadventurers.com for about $350, so I don't know what the travel plate set up is worth.

I'd want to pay less if the spare air is included. :D

A lot of the guys use spare air around here. I don't know much about it. I guess one day when it is slow at work I need to do some searching for some of these crazy fight threads about how you will die if you use/don't use spare air.
