I was ready to order some Apollo Bio Fins but after reading so many discussions on Scuba Board I've decided to wait. It looks like the general consensus is they are the best of the split fins but I want to do underwater videography in the future and a lot of people seemed to feel paddle fins were better for precision control.

In particular, a lot of people kept talking about their 'turtles' and I'm not sure what they mean by that. I looked on scuba toys.com/diver's direct/scuba.com...I don't see any fins named 'turtles'. Is this a generic term? Sorry, but I'm still a newbie....can someone explain it to me?

I mostly dive in warm tropical waters.

Turtles are made by XS Scuba now you can get them here http://www.leisurepro.com/Prod/XSSFTE.html

They are a little shorter than Jet fins as pictured here second from the right

Frequently they are used by DrySuit divers as Jet fin clones with large foot pockets. Ideal for rockboots and other really big shoes.

Aloha, Tim

Love those bungie finstraps in the picture Kidspot posted. I bungied one pair of my fins and they are so much fun to use.

Thanks Tim! A mystery solved! So, people seem to like them a lot. Do people also like them for warm water diving? I want to find fins that will give me good control for photography and videography as that's what I plan on doing a lot of in the future.
