Hi all,

I'm planning to be in Chincoteague Fri 5/6 - Mon 5/9 -- First off, is there any shore/boat diving from the island or nearby? Second, anyone up for it this weekend?

Thanks,
Nate

I go to Assateague frequently but haven't dove offshore there. Have considered it, but the vis is terrible close to shore (like 6 inches or so). There are also strong riptides present most of the time.
There are some charters, OC Diver and Surface Interval. Have been on the SI and enjoyed it, havent tried the OC diver yet. There are also a lot of charters off VA Beach, though it's a drive and a huge toll ($12.00 one way - $5.00 return within 24 hrs)

Oh, I can't make it this weekend but if you do, I'd wear a drysuit. It's going to be COLD out there!!
